Getting to Alexanderplatz

The Alex is one of the best-connected spots in Germany. From here you can reach anywhere – and vice versa.

From BER Airport

Simplest connection: S-Bahn S9, around 50 minutes, every 20 minutes. No changes. Ticket "Berlin ABC", currently about €4.40 one way.

Alternative: FEX Airport Express to Hauptbahnhof, then change to the S-Bahn – faster overall (around 40 minutes), but with a change.

Taxi about €60. For two to four people with luggage sometimes the more sensible choice.

From Hauptbahnhof

S5, S7 or S9 – seven minutes, running every few minutes.

Public transport at the Alex

The following lines stop at Alexanderplatz:

By car

You can – but you shouldn't have to. The inner-city low-emission zone requires a green sticker. Parking nearby is expensive (Alexa car park, Galeria car park). Expect €3–4 per hour.

Accessibility

Alexanderplatz station is largely step-free. Lifts serve S-Bahn and U-Bahn levels, though they occasionally fail.
