Two to three hours on foot through Berlin-Mitte. Classic route: Alex → Museum Island → Berlin Cathedral → Unter den Linden → Brandenburg Gate → Reichstag.
Free Walking Tours are free of charge, but the guide lives on tips. €10 to €15 per person is fair.

Hop-on-hop-off buses stop at the Alex. Spree boat cruises depart from the nearby Nikolai Quarter. Cycling tours come guided or as self-serve rentals.
